William “Billy” Peyton, age 78, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Peyton was born on May 10, 1940 to the late Daniel Paul Peyton and Modest Esther Hallmark Peyton. He was a retired mail carrier and was a deacon and former treasurer for the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Peyton was a Kentucky Colonel, and was a former member of the Hopkins County Fair Board, the Hopkins County Agricultural Committee, the Southern States Board of Directors, a 4-H leader and President of the Hopkins County 4-H Council. He was a loving father and grandfather, an avid mule rider and was called “Mr. Amazing” by the Madisonville Messenger. He was a 1957 graduate of Dawson Springs High School.
Mr. Peyton is survived by his wife ~ Nancy Hopper Peyton of Dawson Springs, KY; three daughters and sons-in-law ~ Christy and Joel Padfield, Julie and Charlie Franklin and Traci & Rick Lutz all of Madisonville, KY; a brother and sister-in-law ~ Reed and Ola Mae Peyton of Dalton, KY; three grandchildren ~ Blake Nelson, Ben Lutz and Josh Lutz.
Preceding Mr. Peyton in death were his parents; a brother ~ Robert (Bobby) Peyton and a beloved nephew ~ Danny Peyton.
Visitation for Mr. Billy Peyton will be Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 PM and on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 8:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with Elder Jeff Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
Active Pallbearers will be: Blake Nelson, Josh Lutz, Andy Peyton, Ben Lutz, Mark Peyton, and Dr. Joey Farmer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Seth Hopper, TJ Tedder, Jon Peyton, Michael Wayne Peyton, Carey Tedder, Jon Blalock, Sawyer Peyton and Aaron Farmer.
