Waldron E. Grimes, age 83, of Madisonville, KY and formerly of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Grimes was born on April 29, 1938 in Providence, KY to the late Burris Harold Grimes and Ruby Mae Purritt Grimes. He worked as a saw mill operator for 45 years and he was very proud to have served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1963 during the Berlin crisis in Co. B, 2nd Bn., 7th Inf USARSEVEN. Mr. Grimes was a member at Union Temple Church in Hopkins County, Kentucky.

He is survived by three children ~ Melinda Grimes, Renee (Greg) Pratt and Barry Grimes; grandchildren ~ Jason Adams, Chad Adams, Samantha Sharp, Aubrianna Brown, Abigail Brown, Mary Carpenter, Chucketta Grimes and Alexis Grimes; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Watson, Regina (Raymond) Kelley, Carolyn (Eugene) Hill, Kitty (Ray) Crook, and Revina Grimes; and a brother, Marlin Grimes.



Mr. Grimes is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melissa Grimes; son, Walter Grimes; sister, Geraldine Cline and brother, Darrell Grimes.



Visitation for Mr. Waldron E. Grimes will be Monday, May 3, 2021 from 11:45 AM to 12:45PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY. Graveside Services will be conducted on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Lafayette Cemetery in Hopkins County, Kentucky with Rev. Franklin Eugene Hill officiating. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and the Hopkins County Veterans Honor Guard.



Active Pallbearers include Chadwick Adams, Rick Cline, Jimmy Kelley, Greg Pratt and Danny Kelley.



In an effort to deter the spread of covid-19 face masks and social distancing will be required.
