Shirley Elaine Cummings Haile, age 83, widow of Lonnie Thurman Haile, and a former resident of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born in Dawson Springs, KY on May 1, 1936 to the late Hardin Kirkley and Bessie Lee Milton Cummings. She was a retired middle school cafeteria manager for Clark County Public Schools and a longtime member of Forest Grove Christian Church. Mrs. Haile enjoyed keeping house, cooking, spending time with her family and friends, cheering on the Cats, watching NASCAR, Pro Wrestling and word search puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Lonnie Fitzgerald (Kathy Jo) Haile; granddaughter, Elisha Nicole Haile (Cole) Wills; great grandson, Robbie Wills; two sisters, Wilma Juanita Cummings Cranor and Eva Jewell Cummings Cranor; one brother, Robert Cummings.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Bertha Lucille Cummings Stewart, Barnie Marie Cummings Oldham, Margaret Lorene Cummings, and Barbara Jean Cummings Metcalfe; four brothers, George Texil Cummings, Hardin Kirkley Cummings, Jr.; Roy Burton Cummings, and Harold Edward Cummings.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Ausenbaugh Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Forest Grove Christian Church, 4733 Old Boonesboro Road, Winchester, KY 40391 and/or Clark County Animal Shelter, 5000 Ironworks Road, Winchester, KY 40391 and/or Ausenbaugh Cemetery, Dawson Springs, KY.
