Ressie Irene Woods

Ressie Irene Woods, age 96, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY. Mrs. Woods was born on August 10, 1929 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Ralph Merideth and Leona Giffin Merideth. She worked for many years as a factory worker in Chicago, IL.

She is survived by a sister ~ Karen Gates of Madisonville, KY; two brothers ~ Gerald Merideth of Hanson, KY and Robert (Hanal) Merideth of Alabama; three granddaughters ~ Jillian Kaziarski, Merideth Goemaat and Annette Johnson and her son-in-law ~ William Arnold of Chandler, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband ~ Charlie Woods; daughter ~ Peggy Ann Arnold; Brothers and Sisters ~ Zalpha Merideth Larson, Sally Merideth Farmer, Ida Mattie Mary Merideth, Eudora Merideth, Arlie K. Merideth, Harlan Merideth, Henry Merideth, Norman R. Merideth, Earl L. Merideth, Mary E. Merideth and three infants.

There will be a memorial visitation for Ressie Irene Woods on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY from 1:00 P.M. until the 2:00 memorial service hour with Pastor Michael Orten officiating.
