Mr. John Stephen Elder

John Stephen Elder, age 74, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Brighton Cornerstone in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Elder was born on May 29, 1941, in Louisville, KY to the late Charles Elder and Christine Cato Elder. He retired from CSX Railroad. Mr. Elder served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church of Dawson Springs.



Mr. Elder is survived by his wife of many years ~ Patricia Faye Downey Elder of Madisonville, KY, a step daughter ~ Shannon Jones of Smyrna, TN, two sisters ~ Jo Bachman of Madisonville, KY and Linda Pleasant of Dawson Springs, KY, two grandchildren ~ Whitley Davis and Dakota Jones and two great-grandchildren ~ Amari Davis and Jaylee Taylor.



Preceding Mr. Elder in death were his parents.



A private graveside service will be held for John Stephen Elder on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY with the Elder Jeff Winfrey presiding. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to be made to the donor’s church or charity of choice.
