Mr. John Robert Childress

John Robert Childress, age 77, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away at his residence in Dawson Springs, KY on February 10, 2015. He was born on October 25, 1937 at Daniel Boone in Hopkins County, KY to Will Childress and Margaret Knight Schindley. He served his country in the U.S. Army and he was a retired truck driver.



Mr.Childress is survived by his faithful wife, Martha Frazier Childress of Dawson Springs, KY, three daughters ~ Carla (Buddy) Kruse, Debbie (Mike) Weaver, and Becky Bowman, three sons ~ Carl (Jenni) Weaver, Tony Winters, and David (Adeane) Childress, two sisters ~ Janice Reid and Goldie Hogan, and several grandchildren including ~ Justin Robinson, Tiki Robinson, Randa Hankins, Devon Hankins, Ja-Nese Winters, Star Suttle, Brandan (Mandy) Winters, India Robinson and Britatani (Jason) Baldwin, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Extended family includes: Amanda McCaslin, Bobby (BJ) Newberry, Gary Wahlert, Rita Winters, Johnny Harrison, Linda Winters, and Linda Blanton.



Preceding Mr. Childress in death were his parents, step father ~ George Schindley, daughter ~ Wanda Gayle Childress, great grand daughter ~ Riley Anne McCaslin, five brothers ~ L.V. Schindley, Robert E. Schindley, Roy W. Schindley, Wilden Rogers, sister ~ Mary R. Williams, and close friend and neighbor ~ Jerry Trover.



There was a Memorial Service for Mr. Childress held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Star of Bethlehem Church with ministers from the family presiding. There will be a graveside service held at a later date.
