Mr. Elmo Garfield Littlejohn

Elmo Garfield Littlejohn, age 79, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. He was born on September 30, 1935 in Lyon County, KY to Charles H. Littlejohn and Viola Walls Littlejohn. Mr. Littlejohn was a graduate of Butler High School in Princeton, Kentucky. He retired from Buckhorn Manufacturing in Dawson Springs as a Maintenance Supervisor; however, he worked for many years for Buckhorn and served in several capacities. Mr. Littlejohn was a sports enthusiast. He loved playing softball in years past with his brothers, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a passion and developed an art for making specialized fishing plugs, and he has made many styles and huge numbers over the years for fishermen in the United States and abroad. He was a member of the Dunn Missionary Baptist Church.



Mr. Littlejohn is survived by his faithful wife of 50 years, Connie Ann Poole Littlejohn of Dawson Springs, KY; two sisters ~ Lizzie Fralick of Princeton, Kentucky, and Mary Catherine Adams (Jim) of Benton, Kentucky, one brother ~ James (“Deanie”) Littlejohn of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews.



Preceding Mr. Littlejohn in death were his parents, seven brothers and sisters ~ Opal Littlejohn, Sam Littlejohn, Hoy Littlejohn, Tom Littlejohn, Daisy Kennady, Charlene Littlejohn, and Arbie Littlejohn.



There will be a public visitation on Friday evening, November 21, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY, and visitation will again begin Saturday morning, November 22, 2014 and continue from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Rev. Wayne Glass will officiate the funeral service and burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.



Active Pallbearers include: Jim Littlejohn, Jon Blalock, Bobby Fralick, Charles Adams, Bobby Hyde, and Rickey Winn III. Honorary Pallbearers include his nieces: Kathy Hyde, Sue Pryor, Joyce Brown, Cindy Barnes, Kay Noel, Martha P’Pool, Lisa Littlejohn, Lori Blalock, and Brandy Gill.
