Lucille Annie Weir, a beloved mother, grandmother, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the Dawson Springs Health and Rehab in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. She was born on July 6, 1932, in Ilsley, Kentucky, and was a proud graduate of the Kentucky School for the Blind.
Mrs. Weir dedicated much of her life to her family and career. She worked alongside her siblings, Edna and George, as a switchboard operator in Beulah, Kentucky. Lucille embraced her roles as a wife and homemaker with joy and affection, profoundly enjoying the time spent with her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her daughter, Marilyn Menser of Dawson Springs, Kentucky; her brother, Herbert "Dub" Huddleston of St. Charles, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Angela Mullins, John Lucas (Jessica) Menser, and Lacie Menser; and three great-grandchildren: Alexa Mullins, Alexavier Jones, and Jaxon DeWitt.
Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred D. Weir, and her parents, Hobert and Delcie Huddleston. She was also preceded by her sisters Margaret Ware, Ruth Huddleston, Mary Huddleston, and Edna Hicks, as well as her brothers George Huddleston, Robert Huddleston, and Joe Huddleston.
Graveside services will be held for Lucille Weir on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, beginning at 11:00 AM. Elder Jeff Winfrey will officiate the service.
