Joyce Ann Duncan

Joyce Ann Duncan, age 79, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at her residence in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Joyce was born on October 8, 1945, in Princeton, Kentucky, and lived a life dedicated to her career and her family.

Mrs. Duncan served diligently as the Food Service Supervisor for the Dawson Springs School System for many years and was a proud graduate of Dawson Springs High School, class of 1963. She was also a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where her faith played a significant role in her daily life.

Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sammy George and Donna Duncan, Jr. of Long Island, New York, and two adoring grandchildren, Ruth Marie Duncan and Georgia Katherine Duncan, who brought her immense joy and pride.  Her beloved husband, Sammy George Duncan, Sr. passed away on June 24, 2025, surviving her by one day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Cooper and Vonna Katherine Boyd Gentry; her step-father, Boitnott B. Gentry; her sister, Creta Faye Cooper; and her nephew, Michael Louis Akin.

Visitation for Joyce Ann Duncan and Sammy George Duncan, Jr. will be on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 P.M. funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Elder Jeff Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow in McNeely Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.

Pallbearers will be: Jon Blalock, Scott Audas, Sheldon Mitchell, Chris Christensen, Hugh Ray and Greg Drake.

Joyce Ann Duncan's legacy will be remembered through the love she shared and the lives she touched throughout her lifetime. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
