John Douglas Inglis, age 79, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on February 1, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Inglis was born in Dawson Springs, KY on July 10, 1942 to the late William Sidney Inglis and Connie Kate Howton Inglis. He was a 1960 graduate of Dawson Springs High School. For very many years he owned and operated “Inglis Glass and Door”. He loved his family and music. Mr. Inglis was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dawson Springs.
Mr. Inglis is survived by his daughter, Holly Ann Oldham; a grandson and grand-daughter-in-law, D.J. & Debra Oldham all of Dawson Springs; a granddaughter, Cassie Messamore Strader of Madisonville; and two great-grandchildren, Natalee Oldham of Dawson Springs and Kendan Strader of Madisonville; three sisters, Shirley (Maurice) Lisanby of Madisonville, Alpha Sanda Inglis and Tammy Sue Inglis both of Murfreesboro, TN; and a brother, Mitchell Wayne Inglis of Franklin, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Phyllis Ann Inglis; a son, Ken “Buckwheat” Messamore; brother, Charles David Inglis; and sister, Phyllis Lane Sneed.
A graveside service will be held for John Douglas Inglis on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Rosedale Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Graham officiating. Pallbearers include Sidney Lisanby, Gregory Inglis, Sheldon Mitchell, Traye Lisandy, and Jodie Johnson.
