James Robert Hopper

James Robert Hopper, age 84, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mr. Hopper was born in Dawson Springs, KY on February 11, 1941 to the late Carlie Thomas Hopper and Betty Fisher Hopper. He worked as a long-haul truck driver and was of the Pentecostal faith. 

Mr. Hopper is survived by three children ~ Debbie (Larry) Myers of Pleasant View, TN, Tommy (Bobbie) Hopper of Madisonville, KY, and David (Angie) Hopper of Florida; a brother ~ Don (Mary) Hopper of Dawson Springs, KY; a chosen daughter-in-law, Debbie (Billy) Knight of Madisonville, KY; two brothers-in-law ~ Danny Parrott and Jimmy Bozell; twelve grandchildren ~ Chris Hopper, Ashley Myers, Tiffany Foster, T.J. Myers, Dustin Hopper, Cory Hopper, Andrew Hopper, Zach Hopper, Brandon Knight, Kayla Knight, Destiny Knight and Lawri Hopper; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Mr. Hopper in death were his parents; his beloved wife ~ Sandra Kay Milton Hopper (departed April 1, 2020), sons ~ Ronald Edward Hopper and Michael Keith Hopper; sisters ~ May Dean (Bob) Mills, Thelma Sue (Johnny) German, Christine “Jo” (Thomas) Johnson, Janie Marie Parrott, Judith Ann (Ron) Chester and Brenda Kay Bozell; one brother ~ Charles Thomas (Barbara) Hopper. 

Visitation for Mr. James Robert Hopper will be Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Bob Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Ilsley Cemetery in Hopkins County, KY.

Active Pallbearers will be: Larry Myers, Chris Hopper, Bo Jackson, Don Hopper, Michael Foster and Rob Mills. Bill Davis, TJ Myers, Ethan Myers and Dustin Hopper will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
