Gary N. Morgan, age 86, of Bowling Green, KY and formerly of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Signature Healthcare in Bowling Green, KY. Mr. Morgan was born on November 7, 1939 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Clint Morgan and Opal Ligon Morgan. He was a 1957 graduate of Charleston High School. Mr. Morgan received his Bachelor’s degree from Murray State College, where he was a member of the basketball team, and his Master’s Degree and Rank 1 Degree from Western Kentucky University. He was a respected and beloved teacher, principal and basketball coach in Hopkins County School System for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his daughter ~ Melissa “Missy” Cansler and her husband, Jason of Bowling Green, KY; a son ~ David Morgan and his wife, Toni of Russellville, KY; three grandchildren ~ Allan David (Allysen) Morgan, Brady Allen Cansler and Katie Marie Cansler; two great-grandchildren ~ Adelyn Morgan and Oliver Morgan and a nephew ~ Clint Terry McMillin of Princeton, KY. 

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years ~ Barbara Anne Morgan; a granddaughter ~ Finley Kate Cansler; sisters ~ Norita Morgan, Joyce McMillin and Sue Jenkins; and a nephew ~ Teddy McMilin. 

Visitation for Mr. Gary N. Morgan will be Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 12:30 until the funeral hour at 3:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Bobby Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
