Fern Menser Henderson

Fern Henderson, age 97, of Hopkinsville, KY and formerly of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Christian Health Nursing Home in Hopkinsville, KY. Mrs. Henderson was born on December 4, 1927 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Barney Flowers Orange and Hazel Lucille Creekmur Orange Glass. She had worked for 27 years as the receptionist at the Senior Citizens Center in Madisonville and was a member of Earlington Baptist Church.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by a daughter ~ Dianne (Philip) Back of Hopkinsville, KY; a son ~ Michael Truman (Phyllis) Menser of Dawson Springs, KY; four sisters ~ Joanna Orange Raskin of Norfolk, VA, Barbara Jean Orange Yates of Eddyville, KY, Clara Belle Orange Murphy of Murray, KY and Judy Caroline Glass Creekmur of Princeton, KY; four grandchildren ~ Michael Russ (Macy) Back, Marilyn Suzanne Townsend, Michael Sean (Kristy) Menser and Kyle Jeffrey (Jackie) Menser; seven great-grandchildren ~ Ethan Michael Back, McKenzie DeMoss, Chase Fisher, Ben Menser, Paysen Menser, Callie Chappell and Kaitlyn Menser; six great-grandchildren ~ Cole DeMoss, Kash DeMoss, Leo Fisher, Lennon Fisher, Ezra Chappell and Cecilia Chappell.

Preceding Mrs. Henderson in death were her parents; her first husband ~ Elbert Truman Menser; her second husband ~ Ted Jones; her third husband ~ Lawrence Henderson; sisters ~ Mary Matheny and Lydia Jane Orange and brothers ~ James Ellis Orange, Warren Kenneth Orange, Donald Clay Orange and L.T. Orange.

Visitation for Fern Henderson will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM with Elder Jeff Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow at the Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County, KY.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Russ Back, Michael Sean Menser, Ben Menser, Ethan Back, Kyle Jeffrey Menser and Chase Fisher.
