Elizabeth Jean Gray, age 92, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026 at her residence. Mrs. Gray was born on August 25, 1933 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late James A. Adams and Estella Ladd Adams. She worked in manufacturing in Arvin Industries and retired as a housekeeper at NHC Nursing Facility in Dawson Springs, KY. She was a beloved wife and mother and was a member of Landmark Holiness Church in Dawson Springs.
Mrs. Gray is survived by three daughters ~ Jeanette Sally Smith and Patricia Ann Galloway both of Dawson Springs, KY, and Barbara Aline Chappell of Madisonville, KY; three sons ~ James Anthony Gray of Cadiz, KY, David Earl Gray of Hanson, KY and Harold Wayne Gray of St. Charles, KY; her sister ~ Lucille Adams Kimberlin; eight grandchildren ~ Lori Ann Choate, Amy Elizabeth Smith, Tanya Nichole Parker, Michael Todd Hale, Kelly Lee Ann Hale, Jessica Alise Watts, Julie Elizabeth Greer and Dylan Alexander Frost ; seven great-grandchildren ~ Jillian Rose Choate Easley, Rhyan Nichole Parker, Caleb Michael Chapman, Tyler Reid Hale, Josie Elizabeth Watts, Rhett Wayne Greer and Bailey Alise Watts; two great-great-grandchildren ~ Wrenley Blaize Chapman and Krew Thomas Easley; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Gray in death were her parents; her husband ~ James David “J.D.” Gray; an infant son ~ Robert Jewell Gray; a sister ~ Betty Lou Martin; and five brothers ~ Joe David Adams, William Earl Adams, James Alvey Adams, Jimmy Edward Adams and Larry Wayne Adams.
Visitation for Elizabeth Jean Gray will be on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 26, 2026 with Rev. Rusty Akers and Rev. Robert Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Christian County, KY.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons ~Fred Watts, Caleb Chapman, Dylan Frost, Coty Greer, Tyler Hale and David Chappell.
