Rachel Scott Abbott

Rachel Mae Scott Abbott, age 89, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at her daughter’s residence in Dawson Springs, KY. Mrs. Abbott was born August 28, 1930 in Owensboro, KY to the late Clarence A. Scott & Louise Scott. She was a loving mother and retired from Goodyear Tire in Madisonville, KY and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Abbott loved crafts, making beautiful quilts which she enjoyed giving to friends and oil painting. Her heart’s desire was the rearing of her seven children, the family she always wanted.



Survivors include a daughter ~ Edna Freece of Dawson Springs, KY; five sons ~ Billy Abbott and James Abbott both of Arizona; Robert “Bobby” (Pam) Abbott of St, Charles, KY; Frank Abbott of St. Charles, KY; and Parlon “Perry” (Rhonda) Abbott of Dawson Springs, KY; a sister ~ Dorothy J. Crick of Evansville, IN; twenty-one grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 65 years ~ Parlon B. Abbott (departed 4/4/2010); a daughter ~ Edith Suttle; a grandson ~ Jessie Abbott and a great-granddaughter ~ Krista Huddleston.



Visitation for Mrs. Rachel Scott Abbott will be Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 12:00– 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in St. Charles, KY.
