Ms. Velva Marie Franklin

Velva Marie Franklin, age 94, of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Tradewater Health and Rehab in Dawson Springs, KY. She was born on December 1, 1919 in Hopkins County, Kentucky to the late Archie and Eula Clark Dillingham. She worked for the Hopkins County Board of Education in the kitchen at West Hopkins High School. She was a member of Star of Bethlehem Church.



Mrs. Franklin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law ~ Elaine and David Adams of Dawson Springs, KY; a sister ~ Doretta Sneed of Evansville, IN; and a grandson ~ Jamie Adams.



Preceding Mrs. Franklin in death were her parents; her husband ~ James William Franklin (departed 8/2/1992); four sisters ~ Virgie Childers, Ora Shoemaker; Zelpha Tucker and Minnie Ausenbaugh; two brothers ~ J.W. Dillingham and Billy Dillingham.



Visitation for Mrs. Velva Marie Franklin will be on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Creekmur Cemetery in Caldwell County, KY.



Pallbearers will be Mike Ausenbaugh, Wes Ausenbaugh, David Sewell, Dan Franklin, Wayne Fort and Jason Key.
