Mrs. Joan Audas Belt

Joan Audas Belt, age 81, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY. Mrs. Belt was born on December 26, 1930 in Hopkins County, KY. She was a 1948 graduate of Dawson Springs High school and received her registered nursing degree at Kentucky Baptist Hospital. She received her bachelor’s degree from Murray State University and her master’s degree from the University of Evansville. She taught EMT training, nurse’s aide and health occupations classes and taught nursing classes at Madisonville Community College. Additionally, she served as a nurse in hospitals and nursing facilities in the region.



Mrs. Belt is survived her husband ~ Rupert D. Belt of Clarksville, TN; six daughters ~ Rebecca Jo Davisson of Festus, MO, Susan Elaine Thomas of Princeton, KY, Shirley Hiltz of Nashville, TN, Ellen Taylor of Clarksville, TN, Brenda Overall of Woodbridge, VA & Gale Vickers of Houston, TX; four sons ~ Dr. Michael Robards of Tuscaloosa, AL, Mark Eugene Robards of Princeton, KY, Steve Robards of Nashville, TN, & Jimmy Scott Robards of WV;a brother ~ Jack Audas of Dawson Springs, KY; twenty one grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.



Preceding Mrs. Belt in death were her parents ~ Fred Houston Audas and Robbie Howton Audas Teasley; her first husband ~ Robert Eugene Robards and a step-son ~ Robert Robards.



Visitation for Mrs. Joan Audas Belt will be on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Memorial Services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Beshear Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Robards officiating.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Green River Hospice Employees, Gilbert & Betty Dortch, Dr. Holeman, Family & Friends of the Jehovah Witness Congregation in Madisonville, KY.
