Loyd Rudolph Franklin

Loyd Rudolph “Rudy” Franklin, age 84, of St. Charles, KY, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Franklin was born on June 26, 1923 in Hopkins County KY to the late Claude Silas Franklin and Viva Opal Combs Franklin. Mr. Franklin retired after working 30 years in the coal mines and was a member of Gilland Ridge Baptist Church in St. Charles, KY.



Survivors include his wife ~ Martha Franklin of St. Charles, KY; sons ~ James Loyd Franklin and Donald Ray Franklin of St. Charles, KY; sisters ~ Catherine Smith of St. Charles, KY and Madeline Smith of Madisonville, KY; a brother ~ Elwood Franklin of Muhlenburg County, KY; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.



Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; sons ~ Keith Franklin and an infant son; sister ~ Lois Sneed; brothers ~ Olaf and Amon and Robert Franklin.



Visitation for Mr. Loyd Rudolph “Rudy” Franklin will be Sunday, January 27, 2008 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Gilland Ridge Baptist Church in St. Charles, KY with Rev. J.W. Haire and Rev. Timmy Camplin officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, KY.
