Harlan V. Pleasant

Harlan V. Pleasant, age 90, of Bristow, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at his home. Mr. Pleasant was born on September 12, 1927 in St. Charles, KY. He attended Nortonville public schools until he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from 1945-1948. He was a World War II veteran and retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service.



On May 20, 1950 Harlan and Patricia Orcutt were united in marriage. From this union was born a son, Harlan Steven Pleasant.



Mr. Pleasant is survived by his wife of sixty seven years ~ Pat Pleasant of Bristow, OK; a son and daughter-in-law ~ Steve and Betty Pleasant of Hillsboro, Oregon; grandchildren ~ Brent Pleasant and wife, Ashley and Stephanie Lewis and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren ~ Jaxon & Katie Pleasant.



He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters ~ Lavay McLemore & Donnie McGregor and a brother ~ Marlin Pleasant.



Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home in Bristow, OK. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Ilsley Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
