Faye R. Winfrey

Faye Winfrey, age 84, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Tradewater Health and Rehabitation in Dawson Springs. Mrs. Winfrey was born January 10, 1934 in Columbia KY to the late Clifford and Louetta Rayburn Jones. She was the director of the Dawson Springs Child Development Center, was a mail carrier and substitute teacher, a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother for many years. She retired after working several years for the Dawson Springs Progress. Mrs. Winfrey was a member of the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church.



She is survived by a daughter ~ Jenny Winfrey of Dawson Springs, KY; two sons and daughters-in-law ~ Elder Jeff and Christy Winfrey of Dawson Springs, KY and Jon and Lisa Ann Winfrey of Lawrenceburg, KY; a sister ~ Joye Hood of Madison, TN; four grandchildren and their spouses ~ K.C. and Gene' Winfrey, Lynsey and Jesse Smith, Joshua and Emily Winfrey and Jeriann and Ben Kallin; six great-grandchildren ~ Aspen and Cruz Winfrey, Danilee Kallin, Jay Winfrey and Stella and River Smith.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband ~ Dr. Joe Winfrey (departed 5/10/2012) and a great-granddaughter ~ Ellie Rose Winfrey.



Visitation for Faye Winfrey will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Elder Jeff Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be Jon Winfrey, K.C. Winfrey, Joshua Winfrey, Aspen Winfrey, Jesse Smith, and Ben Kallin. Cruz Winfrey will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
