Charles Eugene Grisham

February 22, 1933 — June 17, 2019

Charles Eugene Grisham, age 86, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Western Kentucky Veterans Center, Hanson, KY. He was born on February 22, 1933 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late George Thomas Grisham and Bessie Lee Brown Grisham. Mr. Grisham graduated from Dawson Springs High School and after high school he served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for many years and retired with the Dawson Springs City Water Department where he served as a water treatment plant operator. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and he was a Kentucky Colonel.



Mr. Grisham is survived by two daughters ~ Janice (Tony) Moore of Dawson Springs, KY, and Sherrie (Steve) Whiting of Chattanooga, TN; one step-daughter ~ Ruth Anne Patterson of Dawson Springs, KY; two step-sons ~ Philip (Pat) Bruce and Dwight (Jenny) Bruce of Dawson Springs, KY; one sister ~ Bonnie Perdue of Marysville, Ohio; ten grandchildren ~ Jerry (Tracy) Bruce, Kevin (Paula) Bruce, Robert (Katelyn) Patterson, Brandy (Daniel) Wiser, Sarina (J.T.) Myrick, Gilbert Brown, Leigh Ann (Joseph) Moore Hetzel, Bryan Moore, Stephen Whiting and Stephanie Whiting; and eleven great-grandchildren.



Preceding Mr.Grisham in death were his parents, his beloved wife ~ Linda Ann Grisham (departed 2-20-2006); one step daughter ~ Lisa Gail Brown; three sisters ~ Mary Hollis, Lela Mae Lundt, and Nell Clark; and three brothers ~ Rev. Bruce Grisham, Norman Grisham and Oscar Grisham.



There will be a Grave Side Service held in honor of Charles Eugene Grisham on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY. Services will be officiated by Chaplain Pat Dew and Dr. Michael Knight followed by a Navy Honor Guard Service conducted by the U.S. Navy. Active Pallbearers include J. T. Myrick, Robert Patterson, Joseph Hetzel, Gary Grisham, Bobby Scott and Adam Walker. Greg Grisham will be an Honorary Pallbearer.



Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of donations to the West Kentucky Veterans Center, 926 Veterans Drive, Hanson, KY 42413.
