Barbara Ann Martin

December 16, 1934 — July 17, 2008

Barbara Ann Martin, age 73, of Ilsley, KY passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Martin was born on December 16, 1934 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Jack and Garah Hankins Gamblin. She worked for many years at West Kentucky Coal Company, Island Creek Coal and at the Unemployment Office for seven years prior to retirement. Mrs. Martin was a member of Suthards Baptist Church and was a 1952 graduate of Earlington High School.



Survivors include her husband of 48 years ~ Harry Martin of Ilsley, KY; a daughter ~ Beth Carlisle; two sons ~ Randy Martin and Kevin Martin; five sisters ~ Betty Hendricks, Martha Brown, Nancy Brown, Jackie Jones and Clara Louderback; a brother ~ Bill Gamblin; a sister-in-law ~ Sue Gamblin and seven grandchildren.



Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents and a brother ~ Tommy Gamblin.



Visitation for Mrs. Barbara Ann Martin will be Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 8:00 AM until the 2:00 PM funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Rev. George Brooks and Rev. David Brown will officiate the service. Burial will follow in New Suthards Cemetery near Earlington, KY.
